What's an Adventure without a Few Mishaps
So who put Tim in charge or deciding our activity for the day? That will be both a first and a last for him. So, we changed the biking to Big Meadows and Hiking to Dardenelles to simply riding across country all the way to Scotts Lake and beyond. Next time you are hiking to Scotts Lake, we want you to know that what you think is a meander on fairly flat ground is simply a figment of your imagination. It is a 12,000 foot climb through boulders and and tree roots. Lorraine you picked the right one to miss. So on the return trip, Linda decides to go airborne, ending in a soft plush pile of grasses, losing grip of the bike and somehow leaving her shoe behind. When Katrina regained composure, Linda was able to share that she was okay but lost her shoe. By now, Katrina had enrolled Jan in the hysterical laughter department, all while Linda waited patiently for someone to help her get up and get her shoe back on. Well, karma caught Jan just a few rock hills later. As she was coming down rock stairs, her girls crashed onto the bike bar. Yikes, stars and pain. As Linda was now able to join Katrina in the laughter circle, Jan massaged her way back to a level of comfort. Knowing that Katrina was next on the list, she inched her way down the hills and around the corners cuatiously. Glenn may not be a happy man for awhile, and Tim is yet to recieve several slaps for his great idea. So, forty plus miles later, a hot shower and more food and all is good.
